The collaboration with the publishing house Franco Cosimo Panini has seen the realization of some facsimile editions of Renaissance illuminated codes for the series "The Impossible Library".
"Historia Plantarum" is an encyclopedia of natural sciences with illustrations of plants, animals and minerals that describe their medical and therapeutic properties. The facsimile reproduction of this masterpiece of Italian miniature required profound technical skill and extreme care to obtain a rendering as close as possible to the original.
Our contribution to the production of the internal pages has involved several precautions: they were made on Pergamenata Stucco Fedrigoni paper and, to further enhance the nature of the manuscript and restore its original features, they were individually punched with slightly different and irregular shapes. Printed in color with a stochastic screen, they have undergone successive processing to create an "antiquated" effect: overprinting in some areas, use of gold in foil in various shades, embossing with dry printing.
The volume is completed by a clever handmade binding.
